Runner-up awards were awarded to Hardy for both the new Fly Rod (Hardy Zephrus) and the new Fly Reel (Ultralite CA DD).

The awards are a prelude to the North American counterpart, the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trade (ICAST) show, scheduled July 15 – 17 in Orlando, Florida. Pure Fishing will be introducing new baits, line, rods, reels and accessories at ICAST, attended by top buyers, retailers, wholesalers and media.

“We are so honored,” said Pure Fishing Executive Vice President for Global Brands and Product Development John Weiss. “Our goal is the make the very best fishing tackle in the world and our teams are dedicated to extensive research and product development day in and day out. These awards are a testament to their fine work and our products enhance the fishing experience for all anglers worldwide.”

The Revo MGX spinning reel is available in two sizes, 20 and 30, and features a 6.2:1 gear ratio, 12 bearings, Rocket Line Management system and AM Gearing system. The MGX is one of six of the all-new Revo reels in the family. The Revo Toro Beast is all business, engineered for strength and performance and touts a Power Stack Carbon Matrix Drag System™ and Duragear™ heavy-duty gear system. Two sizes are available, 50 and 60, in right and left hand models with either 4.9:1 or 6.2:1 gear ratios.

Spiderwire’s new Dura-Silk is made from the highest strength Dyneema™. Soft, flexible with a round, full bodied construction that resists wind knots. Ideal for fishing heavy structure.

Patrick Sebile designed the new compact Spin Glider, combining the benefits of a wobbler and a spinner, specifically for pike. Easy to cast and swim, the baits feature a lifelike perch shape and look. Available in both sinking and floating versions.

Hardy’s new Zephrus fly rod, in both freshwater and salt water models, has a rod blank built with the unique silica-nano process SINTRIX®, produced by 3M®. This makes the Zephrus rods 60 percent stronger and 30 percent lighter than traditional graphite rods. The Ultralite CA DD reel features aesthetic and structural improvements to the design of the Ultralight family for serious anglers.
